Konstkolonin – The Art Colony
The piece is being further developed at the moment, to make it ready to get out on the road…
The Art Colony
A performance piece where we, together with the audience, reconstruct iconic paintings from art history – Hip, Hip, Hurra! by P.S Krøyer and Michael Anchers Summer evening on Skagen beach. By reconstructing these classical paintings of a famous art collective we create small temporary art colonies and reflect on the idea of art colonies as a way of turning life itself into art, as a resistance strategy and alternative forms of society – and how art can make room for change today.
‘The Art Colony’ is an ongoing art project that has been made in different ways, both as a reconstruction at Göteborgs konstmuseum in front of the original Hip, hip, Hurra!, and as a part of a larger performance and theater-piece at Trädgårdsföreningen, Göteborg.
